Razak's Stall

I know, I know. It's about food again. I know that gluttony is one of the cardinal sins, and I don't want to sound like a glutton, but for the sake of the children, we have been going to those stalls we love so much to buy the food and freeze them to bring up to Petaling Jaya, not only for them but for friends as well. One of our favourites is Gerai Razak or Razak's Stall off Jalan Bakau Chondong. His special dishes are "mee rebus" and "lontong kering". Let me explain as best as I can. "Mee rebus" is yellow noodles in a thick gravy and "lontong kering" is compacted steamed rice with fried spicy dessicated coconut, vegetables and the special spicy peanut sauce. In both dishes you could also add chili cuttle fish, beef, chicken, chicken liver, egg; in short anything that strikes your fancy.

That evening when we reached home in PJ, we defrosted the ingredients for making the mee rebus.

Reboiling the potato, eggs and tofu

Peeling the boiled eggs and potato

And the chicken too

It was, as expected, a highly satisfying meal.
